The One That I Love (Та, Которую Я Люблю)

I dreamt of a northern road,

Life passing tranquilly.

Suddenly, the sky opened.

You were looking down at me.

Angels locked in the shining

And with them, in the same row,

There next to you was she; the one that I love.

I’m telling you, “Please hear me!”

I’ll give you what I have:

Give you my soul and body,

Give you my life and death,

All that is still unsung,

In your paradise, a home,

Only give me back her; the one that I love.

There’s little light in one heart,

One 30-watted lamp.

Once all of it has burnt out,

New ones are found in hell.

And so, on this icy edge,

I’m carelessly dancing off.

I’m being held by just her; the one that I love

Though I do not know what’s ahead,

It is my fate that is known

Here she is, here she waits! The one that I love.
