Fairy Tale (Сказка)

Late at night I read fairy tales.

Late at night you are writing songs.

And she, your muse, she is probably gorgeous.

And my fairy tale is never-ending, so please tell me, oh why?

Did we bypass two lives?

Know, two loves passed each other, too bad that returning

Is eternally long, and I cannot force it.

REFRAIN:

So since I can still be your friend, but you will never be my prince,

I’ll fall as white, white snow on your lashes, since I can’t on your lips, can’t on your lips.

So since you’ll never be my prince, you’ll never call me ‘baby’, won’t speak of love…

I’ll give it all to you, and just the fairy tale keep for myself.

And just the fairy tale keep for myself.

I am calling you, I am worried.

Tell me, dear, how is your cold?

Again, the weather outdoors is so rainy.

And Moscow will soon be like Atlantis,

So please tell me, oh why?

Have we bypassed our lives?

And from friendship to love, just one breath, but returning

Is eternally long, and I cannot force it…

REFRAIN

Late at night I read fairy tales.

Late at night you are writing songs.

On the Other Side (Потусторонняя)

We could go to sleep in the same bed

And we could wake up under the same blanket.

And in the endless silent evenings,

We could read each other fairy tales.

The sun through the curtains would be our whipped cream

When, afterwards, we сould drink coffee together.

And then we’d descend back to the ground,

Fall to the ground in the same elevator…

REFRAIN:

But I, I’m to the other side

I’m on the other side of you.

But I, I’m unidentified,

I’m the illegal love of you.

Like subway lights down the corridors of night

We’re rushing towards freedom, passing each other by.

We’re two in the crowd, but we’re somewhat alike

Maybe in our wings, or in our palm lines?

But maybe, but what if we could just believe

That our love is a flag atop a skyscraper?

You know, every morning, I fall next to you in the same elevator,

But you don’t see me…
